One of our biggest strengths as an airport community is the diversity of our workforce. In celebration of Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re honored to have several amazing guest presenters that will speak on the needs of older adults from an employment perspective:

Joyce DeMonnin, former AARP communications manager and AARP volunteer, will speak to the demographics of older adults in Oregon and provide an overview of the needs of older adults.

Kathryn Gerhards, Easterseals Oregon senior community service employment program director, will share about the organization and the support they provide to help prepare older adults to join or re-join the workforce.

  James Swalley, Hudson Group general manager here at PDX will share some personal reflections on successes he’s had hiring older adults to join his team.
